You will lead a high-performing engineering organization, driving innovation in web, mobile, social, collaboration, and user experience, fundamentally changing the way we operate across the firm.
Role Summary
This role is a Microsoft 365 Engineer with a core focus on Microsoft 365 Copilot engineering, including platform readiness, extensibility, security, and enterprise-scale adoption. We are seeking a visionary and experienced technical leader to serve as our Senior Technical Vice President, overseeing the strategic planning, engineering, and governance of our enterprise-wide Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This role demands a deep technical understanding of M365 services, coupled with exceptional leadership capabilities to guide global teams, define architectural standards, and drive the adoption of advanced features, including AI-powered capabilities like Copilot, the Teams suite, and the Power Platform. You will be instrumental in collaborating with senior product owners, architects, compliance, and risk teams to deliver transformative solutions that meet the stringent demands of a global financial institution, ensuring seamless integration across the broader Microsoft ecosystem including Windows 365.
Responsibilities
• Define and execute the long-term strategic vision and roadmap for all Microsoft 365 platforms and services, ensuring alignment with overall firm objectives, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of highly skilled engineers and technical managers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Provide executive oversight for the design, architecture, and implementation of complex, enterprise-grade Microsoft 365 solutions, ensuring scalability, security, resilience, and seamless integration with existing firm-wide systems, including Windows 365 and the Power Platform.
• Establish and enforce robust governance frameworks, security policies, and compliance standards for all Microsoft 365 services, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulatory mandates within a highly regulated financial services environment.
• Collaborate extensively with senior product owners, enterprise architects, engineering leads, compliance, risk, and business unit leaders to understand strategic requirements, manage expectations, and drive successful outcomes for critical initiatives.
• Drive the evaluation, pilot, and strategic adoption of new Microsoft 365 features, emerging technologies, and AI-powered capabilities (e.g., Copilot, Teams, Power Platform) to enhance productivity, collaboration, and user experience across the firm.
• Oversee the operational, performance, and incident management processes for Microsoft 365 environments, serving as a primary executive escalation point for critical issues and ensuring rapid resolution and root cause analysis.
Basic Qualifications
• 12-15+ years of progressive experience in enterprise-level IT, with at least 10 years specifically focused on Microsoft 365 platforms and services in a significant leadership capacity within a large, complex organization.
• Proven track record of successfully leading, managing, and developing large, geographically dispersed technical teams, including managers and individual contributors.
• Demonstrated ability to define, articulate, and execute complex technology strategies and
roadmaps for critical enterprise collaboration platforms.
• Deep architectural and engineering understanding of the entire Microsoft 365 suite, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Azure AD, Intune, Purview, Windows 365, and the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), as well as advanced security/compliance features.
• Extensive experience designing, implementing, and managing Microsoft 365 solutions within stringent security, governance, and regulatory frameworks, preferably in the financial services industry.
• Exceptional executive-level communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and strategic initiatives to diverse audiences, including senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
• Superior analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, capable of navigating highly complex technical, organizational, and business challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
• Hands-on experience with large-scale Microsoft 365 Copilot deployments, Power Platform integrations, custom integrations, and advanced automation strategies for M365 management and operations.
• Strong understanding of broader cloud architecture principles (Azure, AWS, GCP) and experience managing hybrid cloud environments.
• Relevant industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, or similar.
• Prior experience in a senior technology leadership role within a global financial institution, with a strong understanding of industry-specific challenges and regulations.
• Proficiency in advanced PowerShell scripting, Azure Automation, and other automation frameworks for M365 management and operations.
Salary Range
The expected base salary for this Seattle, Washington, United States-based position is $150000-$250000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
