Register-Transfer-Level (RTL) Power Analysis Engineer

THE ROLE:

A great opportunity to join our AMD Infinity Fabric power team, working with bleeding-edge technologies to deliver world-class products to the marketplace across a wide range of products portfolio including MI accelerators, Servers, laptop and gaming consoler.

THE PERSON:

A highly motivated engineer, and a great team player, with strong interest and skill set in RTL power reduction. Ideal candidate would have good arch/uArch background, or demonstrate strong interest building up that context to drive effective power improvements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work within the Infinity Fabric power team to drive power reduction including estimation, analysis, and optimization, flow setup, and methodology improvements.
  • Collaborate with system architects and designers, define use cases, identify and prototype power and perf-per-watt optimizations.
  • Run performance models and power tools, write scripts, analyze data, and evaluate tradeoffs against project goals.
  • Power management algorithm design and implementation.
  • Leverage latest AI tools and flows to drive automation and analysis

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong experience in ASIC power and low-power design techniques.
  • Strong experience in power analysis and optimization tools (e.g. Ptpx, Power Artist, etc.)
  • Strong experience in RTL design, simulation, and synthesis.
  • Experienced in performance, analyzing perf/power trade-offs
  • Knowledge in NOCs, memory controllers, SOC blocks is a plus.
  • Scripting language, e.g. Python, etc.
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills, well organized, and self-driven.
  • Excellent communication skills.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related field.
