The Senior Buyer is responsible for facilitating the purchase of materials, equipment, and services through requirements clarification, soliciting bids, evaluating quotations, and selecting suppliers for products and services that are above the bid threshold or not part of the global category-management sourcing process.

Job Description:

Capable of executing both technical and administrative buys, focusing on the more difficult/strategic as a priority.
Performs market and supply-base analysis, spend analysis, basic landed cost calculations and what-if scenario building in alignment with the sourcing process.
Supports the Global Category Management teams as needed, playing a key role in the cross-functional team in developing category and sourcing strategies and executing tender activities.
Executes and oversees the ordering of materials and supplies from suppliers.
All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

BA/BS plus 5-9 years professional experience; or Advanced Degree plus 3-7 years professional experience.
