Location: Liberty, MO

Magna is seeking an Industrial Paint Process Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and optimization of our automated powder coat paint line, pretreatment systems, and wastewater treatment systems. This hands-on role combines mechanical troubleshooting, process optimization, environmental compliance, and equipment maintenance.

Ideal candidates will have an Associate's degree in a Skilled Trades or related technical field and experience working with industrial equipment, paint systems, wastewater treatment, or manufacturing processes.

What You'll Do
  • Troubleshoot and maintain automated powder coating equipment, pumps, valves, conveyors, and spray systems
  • Support paint line operations, pretreatment systems, and wastewater treatment processes
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and process-related equipment issues
  • Monitor chemical concentrations, pH levels, conductivity, and process performance
  • Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections
  • Work with robotics, automated systems, and industrial process equipment
  • Maintain paint and chemical inventories
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve quality, reliability, and production efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and quality standards
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate's degree in a Skilled Trades, Industrial Technology, Maintenance, Manufacturing Technology, or related technical field preferred
  • Experience with industrial mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Experience with paint systems, powder coating, pretreatment systems, wastewater treatment, or industrial process equipment preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical documentation, and customer paint specifications
  • Experience with pumps, piping systems, chemical handling equipment, robotics, or automated manufacturing systems preferred
  • Welding experience (MIG, TIG, Arc, or Gas) is a plus
  • Ability to obtain wastewater treatment certification within 12 months and complete required environmental and safety training
