Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Finishes production pieces by applying powder coat; Setup, maintenance and preparation of application equipment used in the powder coating process; Assist in metal preparation; Ensures efficiency and quality of painted parts; Maintains a safe working environment; Contributes to team effort.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Finishes production pieces by applying coatings such as powder coat to protect or decorate work piece surfaces; setup and operation of spray guns and/or ovens; examine finished surfaces of work pieces to verify conformance to necessary specifications; retouching any defective areas; prep powder application and ensure environment is clean in order to prevent cross contamination of powder colors; completing daily production documentation.
  • Assist in preparation of production pieces by cleaning surfaces of work pieces in order to prepare them for coating, using cleaning fluids, solvents, brushes, scrapers, and grinders, completing daily production documentation. Finishes coated surfaces by polishing with sandpaper, pumice, rouge, wax, or other finishing materials.
  • Ensures the efficiency and quality of painted parts by examining finished surfaces to identify and repair defective areas, adhering to ISO and FDA regulations.
  • Maintains a safe working environment by attending safety training; cleaning and maintaining equipment as well as work area.
  • Assist in operations and maintenance of product going onto and coming off of the paint conveyor system with consideration for line density and efficiency.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed and handles all other duties as signed in order to contribute to overall success of the company.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • Manual dexterity required for operation machinery.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds required.
  • Ability to follow directions, oral and written.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time; up to 80% of day.
  • Ability to become qualified to perform Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
