Coating Machine Operator
Location: Concord, NC
Pay:  Day shift: $18 per hour
         Night shift: $19 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, 2-2-3 rotating schedule
  • Day shift: 6:00 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.
  • Night shift: 6:00 p.m. to 6:15 a.m.

Important: Candidates must be able to pass a respirator test and physical exam.
Alliance Industrial Solutions has partnered with a leading photo imaging and information delivery solutions company to hire Coating Machine Operators in Concord, NC.
In this role, you will operate coating equipment, produce coated ink ribbon according to specifications, perform product changeovers, and complete quality inspections. The ideal candidate has manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work safely around organic solvents while using respiratory protection.
Job Responsibilities

  • Operate coating machines according to established operating procedures and safety requirements.

  • Produce correctly coated ink ribbon according to product specifications.

  • Perform product changeovers, including:

    • Roll exchanges

    • Roll cleaning

    • Doctor blade exchanges

    • Machine threading

    • Filter changes

    • Parts cleaning

    • Material handling

  • Mix and charge ink raw materials and organic solvents in a measured and controlled manner.

  • Monitor ink supply and coating systems.

  • Troubleshoot basic equipment and process issues.

  • Perform visual inspections and quality control testing.

  • Use machine inputs and adjustments to maintain product quality.

  • Assist with basic maintenance activities and coordinate with maintenance personnel as needed.

  • Identify potential causes of defective product and production inefficiencies.

 Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Chemical mixing or blending experience preferred.

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including percentages, multiplication, and division.

  • Ability to read and use instruments such as micrometers, microscopes, light tables, hand tools, gauges, and other specialized equipment.

  • Ability to pass a physical exam and respirator test.

  • Ability to work near organic solvents while wearing air-purifying respiratory protection equipment as required.
 Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to operate a roll cart carrying more than 500 pounds.

  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, and work in cramped or confined spaces.

  • Ability to thread machinery and perform repetitive arm and shoulder movements while cleaning rolls.

  • Ability to work safely in areas where respiratory protection is required.
