Job description


NW Employment Solutions is partnered with a Metal Components Company in Tualatin and we are looking to add an Powder Coat Line Operator to join our team.

Shift: 6am-2:30pm

Pay: $18-20 DOE


Set-up and run powder coat line, coating a variety of parts to cosmetic standards and Q-chips. Creates quality color chips for production controls based on manufacturer, color and texture of surface. Manages powder inventory. Supervises powder coat helpers to a certain degree. Advises for proper surface finishes as needed to achieve powder coat cosmetics. Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follows department standard operating procedures.
  • Directing the loading carriers of parts to and from phosphate line for cleaning.
  • Racking/un-racking, and masking/un-masking parts on the powder line
  • Powder coats all parts with powder equipment
  • Managing parts and equipment through the baking/curing cycle
  • Finishes parts as directed.
  • Inspects product to cosmetic standards as each step of the process is completed.
  • Loads/unloads materials, parts or products onto or from pallets, skids, conveyor, or trucks, either manually or using a hoist.
  • Follows established safety protocols including required usage of PPE; helps to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Minimum skill, knowledge, education, certifications and related job experience that incumbent typically must have to perform essential functions of the job acceptably.

  • 3 years of experience working on a powder coat line, utilizing all equipment and procedures of the powder coat cycle.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Operates grinding/finishing equipment with proper grit media.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to correctly surface prep product to a cosmetic finish
  • Dependability; honesty & integrity; a positive, proactive attitude; ability to use time productively, working with minimal supervision both individually and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
