Job description

Summary of Responsibilities:
The Live Production Director directs all production aspects of Highlands College chapels and special events, including equipment/infrastructure, and manages all related technical details. This role oversees the planning, setup, and execution of audio, video, lighting, and staging to ensure every gathering reflects the excellence and intentionality of Highlands College. Working in close collaboration with the Spiritual Development team and other departments across the Church and College, the Live Production Director leads and develops production team and students while maintaining the systems and standards necessary for seamless live events.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Serve as primary Technical Producer for chapel services,
  1. attending and annotating rehearsals,
  2. instructing camera operators,
  3. attending pre-service meetings.

2. Serve as the primary point of contact with Central Broadcast team of
Church of the Highlands and Grandview Team regarding
  1. the installation and upkeep of camera system,
  2. other repairs and improvements needed in the Grandview Auditorium.

3. Oversee the development and implementation of training benchmarks
and protocols for camera operators and shaders.
4. Troubleshooting, cleaning, and maintaining equipment in coordination
with Central Broadcast and Campus Production team.
5. Coordinating software, hardware, and firmware update needs with
Central Broadcast team.
6. Oversee broadcast and camera equipment training for Highlands
College Live Production major and minor students
  1. Help in developing teaching materials,
  2. Leading training sessions,
  3. Developing student evaluations and assessments.

7. Assist in post-production editing and archiving of recorded services
and events.
8. Manage all Highlands College Production operations required to
support and facilitate chapels and events.
9. Uphold department policies regarding systems, training methods,
workflow, etc.
10. Coordinate interdepartmental projects.
11. Engage in long-term department planning.
12. Nurture and maintain relationships with equipment vendors, while
actively pursuing relationships with potential new vendors.
13. Actively research new products, equipment, and solutions through
active usage of blogs, web forums, equipment manuals,
publications, etc.
14. Help manage and run production equipment during special events,
retreats, and conferences.
Other Duties:
  • Participate in ministry at Church of the Highlands and Highlands College by leading small groups.
  • Affirm and uphold the Statement of Faith and the Core Values and DNA of the College, exemplifying all by word and lifestyle.
