Job description

Pull green lumber and mark dimensions from the sawmill stacker and arrange it in the green yard. Supply reman and assist sawmill when needed. Load and down stack batch kilns and continuous kilns. Arrange down stacked lumber in the dry sheds. Arrange and maintain green yard. Assist kiln operators when needed.
Hourly rate for this position is $24.19 per hour.
Daily Job Duties:

  • Operate heavy forklift.
  • Complete a 360° walk around and check out lift before operating lift.
  • Pull lumber from the green stacker mark dimensions and arrange in green yard.
  • Load batch and continuous kilns as straight as possible in a timely manner.
  • Grease kiln carts before each pass-through kiln.
  • Down stack dried lumber and arrange it in the dry shed in a timely manner.
  • Fix any lumber packages that are busted or damaged.
  • Arrange and maintain green yards.
  • Pick up dropped boards and place in the proper bins before running it over.
  • Assist kiln operators when needed.
  • Load reman and support sawmill when needed.
  • Follow all applicable safety rules.
  • Works regularly scheduled shifts.
  • Work scheduled overtime – as required.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Requirements:
  • Must complete forklift safety training course and obtain forklift certification.
