Location Description
Michael Foods, Inc. located in Mars Hill, Maine. Pineland Farms is one of the largest food manufacturing organizations located in Aroostook County. Our Mars Hill facility has over 200 incredible team members who work together to provide our customers with the best possible potato product.
Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Forklift Operator is responsible for moving materials to and from proper storage areas by operating a small industrial vehicle.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Attend pre-shift meetings.

2. Drive forklift in a safe and productive manner.

3. Complete the daily forklift inspection and remove the lift from service if a defect is detected.

4. Ship and receive product damage free and accurately by completing the Quality Reassurance Checks.

5. Monitor the floor for safety concerns or infractions and act appropriately.

6. Complete all documents and paperwork completely and accurately.

7. Fill customer orders accurately and follow the customer’s special instructions.

8. Work very closely with the office staff to ensure discrepancies and issues are completed accurately.

9. Ensure warehouse is organized, clean, damages are taken care of and pallets are off the floor and placed into bins.

10. Promote teamwork within your team and between teams by communicating in a positive and pleasant manner.

11. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety

12. Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products.

13. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

14. Perform other duties as assigned.

15. Follow all SQF principles pertinent to your position as specified by the SQF Practitioner.

16. All food safety and human safety concerns need to be reported to appropriate personnel such as QA technician, Safety Manager, FSQ Manager, etc.

17. Other duties may be assigned.


Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED:


• High school diploma or G.E.D or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• The successful completion of Powered Industrial Truck training program and pass the forklift certification.

• Effectively read, write and speak English.

• Strong math and configuration is necessary
• Ability to analyze situations and make the best decision which benefits the company without jeopardizing the health and well-being of the employee.


PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:


• A minimum of six months experience in a palletized warehouse environment is preferred.

• Good Inter-Personal skills are required.
• Certification is preferred but, is not required at the time of hire. All distribution operators will be provided with MFI approved P.I.T. training /certification at the start of employment.
