About the Team: We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer with strong Go (Golang) skills to deliver and operate critical production database services across on-premises and cloud infrastructure. You will own the infrastructure, automation, and operations of multiple mission-critical database platforms (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, MySQL), ensuring seamless, reliable service delivery at scale in hybrid environments.

About the Role: Write and maintain production Go code to build and enhance critical database services Design and implement features to improve service reliability and delivery across hybrid infrastructure Conduct code reviews and collaborate on system design and architecture Build and enhance infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes Improve systems for reliability, performance, and maintainability Collaborate with teams to understand requirements and ensure critical database services meet business needs Document architecture decisions, runbooks, and operational procedures Mentor team members and share knowledge across the platform team Participate in sprint planning, design reviews, and retrospectives Design and maintain infrastructure and automation to deliver critical production database services across on-premises and cloud platforms Build solutions for database provisioning, configuration, lifecycle management, and self-service enablement at scale Implement infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm) to automate service delivery across hybrid environments Develop automation for certificate management, version upgrades, platform migrations, and operational tasks Respond to and resolve P1/P2 incidents across all critical production database platforms in both environments Troubleshoot service failures, provisioning errors, replication issues, and connectivity problems in hybrid infrastructure Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability improvements to prevent and resolve issues Participate in on-call rotation to support mission-critical database services Own one or more critical production database service areas to ensure high reliability and availability Lead platform improvements including high-availability implementations and disaster recovery enhancements Ensure seamless integration and support for critical database services at scale Continuously optimize service delivery and reliability across all environments About You: Basic Qualifications: 7+ years of software engineering or platform engineering experience 5+ years of hands-on production Go (Golang) development with strong architectural knowledge Proficiency with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) Proven track record building end-to-end platform solutions Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience Experience supporting mission-critical production services Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Helm) Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, RabbitMQ, MySQL) Production experience with GCP (GKE, CloudSQL, Secret Manager) and/or other cloud platforms Experience deploying and managing services in hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud) Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, logging systems) Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Computer Science or related field Relevant cloud certifications (GCP, PostgreSQL, MySQL) Experience with hybrid cloud deployments or multi-environment infrastructure Experience with open-source cloud-native projects Familiarity with SRE principles and DevOps practices GitOps workflows and advanced CI/CD automation experience Knowledge of certificate management systems (cert-manager, ACME, PKI) Background with managed database services (MongoDB Atlas, AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL) Company Overview: UKG is the Workforce Operating Platform that puts workforce understanding to work. The pay range for this position is $129,500 to $186,100. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and work location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible to participate in a performance-based bonus plan and to receive restricted stock unit awards as part of total compensation.
