Job Description:

Required skillset: Aurora Postgres, MSSQL Admin Additional skillset : DB2 LUW Database monitoring tools: CloudWatch, Zabbix, Dynatrace, Datadog, Fog light.

  1. Hands-on experience with Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL and Amazon RDS.
  2. Experience building and supporting large-scale, high-transaction database environments.
  3. Strong expertise in database performance tuning, optimization, and deep-dive analysis.
  4. Hands-on experience configuring, supporting, and tuning PostgreSQL databases.
  5. Knowledge of database backup and recovery strategies.
  6. Ability to write and debug Shell and Python scripts.
  7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business teams, technical teams, and senior management.
  8. Manage database platforms to ensure high availability and performance, including start, stop, restart, failover operations, and replication-lag monitoring on replica nodes.
  9. Perform daily health checks for disk, CPU, memory utilization, and PostgreSQL logs, using AI-driven automation where applicable.
  10. Perform on-demand backup and restoration activities, including table- and schema-level backups.
  11. Identify long-running and repetitive queries, run execution plans, and share findings with the development team for further analysis.
  12. Perform basic user and access management.
  13. Troubleshoot infrastructure, performance, and availability issues.
  14. Provide basic query and performance support.
  15. Monitor weekend job alerts, troubleshoot issues, and escalate to the Compass SME as per SOP.
  16. Perform database refresh activities during weekends.
  17. Participate in planned maintenance windows and outage activities, and perform database tuning and optimization to meet SLA requirements.
  18. Handle incident management, change management, and service tasks in accordance with SLA requirements
