Job Requirements
As a Database Administrator-I at Phenom, you will support the maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of database systems across multiple environments. You will work closely with others DBAs, DevOps engineers, and development teams to ensure database reliability, availability, and performance.
This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about databases, cloud technologies, and solving technical problems while learning modern database administration practices.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining and monitoring database systems including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
  • Support database backup, recovery, and routine maintenance activities.
  • Help troubleshoot basic database performance and connectivity issues.
  • Learn and apply database optimization techniques such as indexing and query tuning.
  • Work with cross-functional teams including Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams.
  • Assist in automating routine database tasks using scripts and tools.
  • Monitor database health, uptime, and alerts under guidance from senior team members.
  • Follow database security, compliance, and data governance best practices.
  • Stay updated with emerging database and cloud technologies.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of SQL and database concepts.
  • Familiarity with at least one database technology such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or MySQL.
  • Knowledge of database fundamentals including backup/recovery and performance basics.
  • Exposure to scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Shell scripting is a plus.
