We are looking for SQL Developer to support our client based in Miami, Florida.
US BASED CANDIDATES ONLY.
This is an onsite position. Candidates must be located in or near Miami, Florida.

The project
TECKpert seeks to hire SQL Developer to support our client, a public school district in Miami-Dade County, FL. The role supports migration of a legacy Student Information System to the FOCUS platform at a large public school district. The developer will own the full lifecycle of database development, from SQL schema design through complex SSIS package creation for data integration, and will work across Microsoft SQL Server and Postgres-based FOCUS systems. Strict attention to data validation and record integrity is essential.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Own the full lifecycle of database development, from initial SQL database design to creation of complex SSIS packages for seamless data integration.
  • Write high-performance, efficient SQL queries and use DBeaver to manage and build the specific tables and fields required to house critical organizational data.
  • Collaborate with the development team and interact with Database Administrators as needed.
  • Read data from FOCUS systems in Postgres in addition to standard Microsoft environments.
  • Perform rigorous data validation to ensure the integrity and accuracy of every record processed.
  • Support the legacy Student Information System migration into the FOCUS platform.
Compensation and Term
This opportunity is for a full-time position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $145,000 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.
Candidates are expected to work onsite at our client's location.
Qualifications you need
A successful candidate possesses or provides the following:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent work experience considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of IT work experience as a SQL programmer with database design using Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages.
  • Hands-on experience writing high-performance SQL queries.
  • Experience with DBeaver for database management.
  • Working knowledge of Postgres databases.
  • Knowledge of DevOps environments and deployment workflows.
  • Strong attention to detail and data validation discipline.
  • Preferred: knowledge of API development.
