RESPONSIBILITIESTeaching & Learning

Contribute to academic leadership in teaching and learning, including curriculum innovation,programmedevelopment, and the enhancement of pedagogical practices

Design, prepare and deliver high-quality teaching and learning materials; conduct lectures, tutorials, and assessments in line with best practices tooptimisestudent learning outcomes.

Provide mentorship and support to colleagues and postgraduate students in developing effective teaching and learning strategies.

Supervise postgraduate research and promote a culture of scholarly teaching and continuous improvement.

Maintain and advancehigh standardsof teaching excellence to meet the University’s expectations for academic quality and student success.

Research

Demonstrate leadership and active contribution in scholarly activities, including conducting impactful research, publishing in indexed journals, and presenting at reputable conferences.

Initiate or collaborate on research projects and contribute to securing external research funding.

Mentor junior academics or research students to develop their research capacity.

Achieve and sustain research outputs and impact consistent with the Associate Professor level of appointment.

Administration and Other Activities

Activelyparticipatein departmental, school, and faculty administration through committee involvement, working groups, and governance activities.

Contribute to initiatives that enhance the effectiveness and reputation of the University’s academic and operational functions.

Engage in continuous professional development and support the advancement of academic and institutional excellence.

Assistin building andmaintaininglinkages with externalorganisations, industry partners, and professional bodies to strengthen collaboration and promote the University’s academic profile.

REQUIREMENTS

PhD inLaw or other relevant fieldsfrom a recognised university.

Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in teaching, research, and/or industry practice, preferable within a higher education environment.

Strong publication record with 3–5 indexed journal publications (ISI / Scopus Q1 and Q2) within the last five (5) years.

Proven ability to secure external research grants as Principal Investigator , with a cumulative value of RM75,000–RM100,000.

Scopus h-index of at least5.

Successfully supervised andgraduatedat least two (2) PhD students by Research as the main supervisor.

Proven experience in curriculum design, teaching innovation, and pedagogical excellence.

Evidence of mentoring and coaching colleagues and students to achieve academic excellence.

Skilled in developing and applying effective teaching methodologies, including the use of digital and IT technologies.

Active involvement in research projects, consultancy, or professional practice with evidence of scholarly or industry-relevant outputs.

Commitment to continuous professional development and engagement with relevant professional or academic bodies.
