We are looking to fill a Scientist 3 position working as a full-time employee of Parexel FSP on assignment onsite at one of our clients located in Rahway, NJ. This position offers full benefits, sick time, 401K, paid holidays, and paid time off. This position does not offer sponsorship.

Qualifications

  • BS degree with 3-5 years of experience

  • MS degree with 1-2 years of experience

Required Skills and Experience

  • Broad and strong understanding of synthetic organic chemistry, including significant hands-on experience in conducting organic chemistry research in a laboratory environment, and executing chemical reactions at various scales

  • In depth understanding of and extensive experience with analytical and liquid handling instrumentation; analytical instrumentation includes, but is not limited to, HPLC (analytical and prep), UPLC, LC-MS, UV, CD, and NMR spectroscopy. Required techniques: HPLC, LC-MS

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Hands-on experience in solid phase peptide synthesis, purification, analysis, and handling; experience using state-of-the-art peptide automated synthesizers

Responsibilities

  • Under direction and guidance of the scientific supervisor or more senior group members: Execute any aspects (synthesis, workup, purification, analysis) of routine peptide preparations in a range of scales and demonstrate flexibility and rapid pace in moving across this space

  • Perform high-quality research and execute tasks on assigned research problems contributing to the attainment of defined research objectives.

  • The assignment encompasses a broad range of complexities and program impact, requiring creativity in seeking solutions, following through with appropriate experiments, and implementing strong computer skills.
