Position Summary
The lab of Dr. Yanan Zhao in the Department of Pharmacy practice, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, is looking to hire Postdoctoral Associates to assist with laboratory research, publications and grant proposals.
Responsibilities to Include:
  • Conduct research and perform laboratory tasks and experiments under direct supervision.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data, and prepare detailed reports summarizing observations and conclusions.
  • Present research findings in internal and external forums, including scientific conferences, lab meetings, and seminars.
  • Contribute to manuscript preparation and grant applications, as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including teaching and training students and participating in related projects.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Applicants must have obtained a doctoral degree (MD, PharmD, or PhD) in one of the following disciplines: Pharmaceutical Sciences, Immunology, Cell Biology, Biomedical/Chemical Engineering, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Clinical Diagnostics, Veterinary Sciences, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
  • A strong background in microbiology, including experience with bacterial and/or fungal culture, antibiotic susceptibility testing, rapid molecular detection of resistance genes or pathogens, and related laboratory techniques.
  • Proficiency in developing and running BSL2 small animal infection models for bacterial and fungal pathogens.
  • Proficiency in mammalian cell culture, microscopy imaging, flow cytometry, and other techniques related to molecular microbiology and immunology.
  • A proven track record of scholarly productivity, demonstrated by at least one first-author publication in high-impact journals and additional co-authored publications in journals relevant to the field.
