Job description

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, ranked No. 1 nationwide for cancer care, seeks a full-time Cytopathologist at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to join a world-renowned team in the Department of Anatomical Pathology. The candidate should have completed a minimum one-year fellowship training in cytopathology.

Board certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Cytopathology is a requirement, as is an active Texas medical license or eligibility. The candidate's major responsibility will be cytopathology diagnostic service, which currently accessions approximately 20,000 cases per year, predominantly non-gynecological. Over 4,000 FNAs are performed each year.

The candidate must have a strong interest in independent research and/or collaborative research with clinicians or basic science investigators. Additionally, participation in teaching of fellows, postdoctoral trainees and students is required. Salary is commensurate with experience.
