Job Description

POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP with an emphasis on Integrated Primary Care Psychology

Salud Family Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with 13 clinics and a mobile unit dedicated to providing primary health services to all the residents of a defined catchment area, covering 9 counties in North-central and southeast Colorado.  The Salud system follows an integrated model of care that aims to ensure high-quality medical, dental, and behavioral health services to traditionally underserved populations, thus reducing barriers to care. 

  • The approximate start date for this position is 8/24/26 to 8/24/27

The fellowship is a one-year, full-time position with an emphasis on integrated primary care psychology.  The training program is a member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC). We are seeking between 2-3 Postdoctoral Fellows (preferably bilingual) for the upcoming training year.  The specific clinic placement of each postdoc will be based on clinic needs and trainee preference.  The postdoc will function as an integral part of the healthcare team in that clinic, which includes other behavioral health providers. Primary job duties will include conducting mental health screenings and diagnostic evaluations, providing consultation services and brief interventions as requested by primary care providers, and providing individual, family, and/or group psychotherapy consistent with the postdoc's experience and specific interests.  In addition, the postdoc will conduct psychological assessments as requested by the treating team. The postdoc will provide supervision, under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, to graduate practicum students (as available).  There will be various opportunities for teaching, research, and learning about and becoming involved in management and administration as they arise and are consistent with the Fellow's interests

Qualifications
  • Completion of APA-accredited internship
  • Completion of APA-accredited  Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
  • Must show evidence of degree completion at least 2 weeks before the start date (Doctoral degrees in psychology, PhD or PsyD.  It can be the diploma or a form signed by the school certifying that the applicant meets all the requirements) 
  • Must obtain a Psychologist Candidate (PSYC) license from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) at least 2 weeks before the start date
  • Strong commitment to working with underserved populations
  • Ability to provide services with cultural competence and sensitivity
  • Ability to deliver services in Spanish (strongly preferred)
