The Postdoctoral Associate performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Postdoctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community.

DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM

Department Specific Functions The successful candidate will lead a project investigating the immune mechanisms involved in cardiac and vascular remodeling in heart failure. Key responsibilities and qualifications include:

1. Design and execute in vitro and in vivo experiments in collaboration with immunology and cardiovascular physiology teams. Techniques will include molecular and cellular immunological and physiological approaches, mouse models of disease, primary cell culture from mouse and human tissues, and analysis of existing data sets.

2. Analyze data, present findings at internal and external scientific meetings, prepare manuscripts for peerreviewed publication, and develop and write fellowship proposals.

3. Contribute to mentoring of trainees and fostering a collaborative, respectful, and welcoming lab environment.

4. Keep track of data, protocols and overall progress in updated laboratory notebooks and data folders shared with the laboratory manager and Principal Investigator

5. Mining large sequencing data sets

Department Specific Qualifications

Education:
PhD in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Physiology or related field
Experience:
Experience working with mice (especially models of cardiovascular disease, acute/chronic inflammation or
cancer). Experience with mammalian cell culture, protein and RNA extraction, knock down and overexpression
vector expression, flow cytometry, tissue sectioning, and immunofluorescence and strong background in
immunology and/or cardiovascular and cancer biology.

to detail.
