TERM LENGTH: Six months; up to one year

LOCATION: Hybrid/Local to Lexington, KY

SALARY: $20/HR


Position Summary

The Video Editor Intern supports NASPO Video Solutions by assisting with the editing and assembly of video content for events, marketing campaigns, and internal initiatives. This role focuses primarily on post-production, including first-round edits, organizing footage, and building clear, structured sequences that support final delivery.


Working under the guidance of the Senior Video Producer, the intern applies feedback, revises edits, and prepares content for final review. The role also supports file organization and post-production workflows to maintain consistency and efficiency across projects.


This position is designed to expand editing capacity while providing hands-on experience in a professional video production environment. While the primary focus is editing, the intern may have opportunities to support onsite production at select conferences (1–2 annually), assisting with filming, equipment setup, and general production needs.


Success in this role requires a foundational understanding of video editing, attention to detail, and the ability to follow direction while meeting deadlines. Candidates should demonstrate proficient editing proficiency through a demo reel and a working knowledge of pacing, continuity, and visual storytelling.


The length of this internship is six months with a possibility of an extended length of up to one year.


Duties and Responsibilities

• Support post-production workflows by completing first-round edits of event footage, interviews, and internal video content in alignment with NASPO Video Solutions standards

• Assemble and organize raw media into structured timelines, ensuring consistency with established project workflows and naming conventions

• Apply basic post-production techniques, including audio cleanup, color correction, and simple motion graphics, to support brand-aligned deliverables

• Implement revisions based on feedback provided through Frame.io and internal review processes, preparing content for final delivery

• Maintain and organize project files, footage, and assets within Box and shared storage systems, following department storage logic and archival standards

• Collaborate with the Senior Video Producer to support project timelines, priorities, and Asana-managed tasks

• Track and report daily workload and timesheets in alignment with department accountability practices

• Support production workflows at select conferences (1–2 annually), assisting with filming, equipment setup, and media capture as needed


Qualifications

• Demo reel showcasing video editing ability is required

• Basic proficiency in video editing software; Adobe Premiere Pro preferred

• Foundational understanding of pacing, storytelling, and visual continuity

• Ability to follow direction and implement feedback in a structured production workflow

• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in film, media, communications, or a related field

• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud tools, including After Effects and Illustrator

• Experience working with video footage in a project or academic setting

• Basic knowledge of file organization and media management

• Interest in videography, photography, or production support
