The work environment is typically fast-paced, requiring strong project management skills to handle multiple deadlines and revise designs based on stakeholder feedback.

To thrive as a Post Office Graphic Designer, you need proficiency in visual communication, layout design, and a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in branding and marketing materials, typically supported by a degree in graphic design or a related field. Familiarity with industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and knowledge of print production processes are essential. Strong attention to detail, creativity, and effective collaboration skills help set candidates apart in this role. These abilities ensure the creation of professional, cohesive, and impactful visual materials that uphold the brand and effectively communicate with the public.

Is AI replacing graphic designers?

AI is automating certain tasks in graphic design, such as image editing and layout generation, but it does not fully replace graphic designers. Post Office graphic designers still rely on creativity, branding, and client collaboration, which are areas where human skills remain essential. AI tools can assist designers but are currently viewed as complementary rather than substitutes.

Are you a graphic design student looking to build your portfolio and network while gaining real-world experience in print, social media and web graphics, and video? We’re an in-house communications team looking for a talented and knowledgeable designer with fresh, creative ideas and an excellent eye for detail.

At the Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA), we serve as stewards of Massachusetts health data, employing multifaceted datasets and cutting-edge analytics to ensure transparency in our health care system. We foster a flexible, collaborative environment; our hybrid approach allows you to work alongside your colleagues in our vibrant Boston office for at least two designated days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely on others.

Join us at CHIA and be a driving force in health policy impact through compelling visual design! We seek a Graphic Design Intern to concept, design, and produce internal- and external-facing campaigns within our Communications and External Affairs team. • Improve content accessibility: Review and update existing materials to ensure compliance with ADA and WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards, including color contrast, typography, alt text, and logical reading order. Assist in developing brand, design, and accessibility guidelines and training materials that help staff and partners apply agency design and accessibility standards consistently.

  • Network and be part of a team: Report to the Art Director and have the opportunity to work with other communications professionals and internal clients, attend team meetings, and share expertise.

  • Receive mentoring: Regular coaching sessions with the Art Director and Communications team members to help build your skills.

  • Showcase presentation skills: Present concepts to the Art Director and internal clients and respond to feedback.

Here are the important qualifications we are looking for:

  • Educational foundation: Current student or recent graduate from an undergraduate or graduate program in Graphic Design, Communications, Digital Media, Data Visualization, or a related field.

  • Software: Expertise using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop); experience with video and using After Effects or Premier, Microsoft Office, and tools such as Canva a plus.

  • Effective communication: Oral, written, and interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • Attention to detail: Ability to translate design assignments and briefs into accurate, comprehensive visual designs, with strong self editing and proofreading skills prior to review.
