Job description

Rapid Medical is hiring reliable, professional Medical Couriers to service routes across Los Angeles County. You'll drive your own insured vehicle to safely transport specimens, lab materials, and medical supplies between hospitals, clinics, and laboratories-upholding chain-of-custody, HIPAA, and company standards at every stop.
Details:
    • $20.06 per hour (non-exempt, overtime-eligible)
    • Mileage reimbursement: $0.31 per mile
    • Full time role: 8 hours
    • Schedule: 8AM-12PM or 8AM-4PM
    • Days: Mon-Fri
    • Location: Los Angeles County
    • Full time benefits: health insurance

What you'll do:
  • Run scheduled pick-ups and deliveries across assigned LA County routes (including Public Health and DHS facilities).
  • Handle specimens at room temp, refrigerated, and frozen-ensuring secure, timely, and accurate transfer.
  • Capture complete Proof of Delivery (POD) with photos and timestamps in the company portal.
  • Communicate clearly with dispatch about ETAs, route changes, delays, or incidents.
  • Follow infection-control and biohazard procedures; escalate temperature deviations or discrepancies immediately.
  • Perform daily vehicle pre/post inspections and maintain a clean, professional appearance.
  • Adhere to HIPAA, DOT, and OSHA compliance requirements at all times.

Ideal candidate:
  • Prior courier experience preferred (medical or logistics).
  • Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Your own reliable, insured vehicle (sedan, SUV, or van-route dependent).
  • Smartphone with active data plan (dispatch & POD app).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely manage coolers/specimen bags.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills; professional, detail-oriented, and punctual.
