ย Position Summary:

The Energy Advisor is responsible for facilitating customers' journey through the program, performing comprehensive energy assessments on homes, and communicating findings to Program participants including actionable follow up steps that can be taken to achieve energy efficiency. The Energy Advisor has deep experience and knowledge of residential energy assessments, weatherization, and overall understanding of the practice of building science and will work with participating contractors to ensure projects remain in scope and support completion. They will work with and collaborate with the Program team to build and continually improve operations of the Program.

  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers and clients by ensuring a high level of customer service.
  • Perform administrative tasks required to facilitate customer intake and scheduling.
  • Conduct energy assessments with the goal of identifying a pathway to upgrade home efficiency, and to assess for quality of work completed.
  • Synthesize findings from energy assessments into reports with actionable next steps.
  • Communicate findings to representatives of participating households, answering any questions they have.
  • Communicate with contractors on a regular basis to support project completion.
  • Manage multiple projects at once.
  • Assist with outreach efforts as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with the Program Manager to ensure program KPI's are met regularly.

Minimum Qualifications:ย 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year working experience in one or more of the following fields:
    • Building envelope science and designย 
    • Building mechanicals and weatherization
    • Building maintenance, home inspectionย 

ย Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to accurately review project proposals and/or final project submissions to ensure adherence to program requirements and processes for final approval.
  • Experience in customer service, sales, and/or field work.
  • Salesforce experience.

ย Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Certified as a Building Performance Institute (BPI) Building Analyst Professional, preferred.

Travel Requirements

  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.

ย Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Required to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls
  • Frequently be exposed to conditions that will require them to walk, kneel, crouch and/or crawl (e.g. attics and/or crawl spaces).
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Noise level is typically moderate.ย 
  • May occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
  • May occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration. In these circumstances, the employee will be required to comply with the prevailing safety training in place according to the individual customer requirements.ย
