Job description

Job Title:  Positive Behavior Support Paraprofessional
Purpose:  To work with students and staff to help support students' positive behavioral growth by implementing behavioral strategies, tracking and recording data, implementing crisis intervention techniques and helping create safe, positive learning environments.  
Application Procedure:  Apply Online
Hours:  Maximum of 32.5 hours per week.
Wages:  Pay starts at $10.00 and up per hour depending on college hours and experience.
   
Job Requirements: 

* Implement behavior support plans, crisis intervention techniques and proactive/preventative techniques including physical management and positive reinforcement.
* Manage crisis according to established policies/procedures/guidelines.
* Effectively communicate, collaborate and coordinate with team members.
* Maintain respect, dignity and confidentiality of students, staff and parents.
* Correct articulation and language use.
* Evidence of good mental and physical health.
* Some lifting may be required.
* Accept supervision from the supervising behavior specialist.
* Travel between buildings required.  Mileage is paid at the federal rate which is currently $.535 per mile.
Qualifications:
* Applicants must have 48 college hours or an associates (or higher) degree and/or ability to pass Title I para assessment. 
* Ability to demonstrate patience, flexibility, strong communication skills and positive attitude.
* Physical capacity to perform physical restraints.
* Ability to maintain good public relations with parents, supervisor and co-workers.
