Job Title: Music Teacher
Supervisor: Academic Director
Job Summary: Provide classroom instruction in Music to K-8 students
Responsibilities
  1. Develops and administers music education curriculum consistent with school goals and objectives as well as the Minnesota state standards for music education.
  2. Plans, coordinates rehearsals for, and directs students in musical programs and performances outside the classroom.
  3. Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by school procedures and applicable laws.
  4. Communicate with parents regarding the program goals, classroom activities and student progress.
  5. Provide a safe classroom environment for students.
  6. Collaborate with grade-level teams, administrators, and other staff to ensure the success of students.
  7. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • A valid Minnesota teaching license in classroom music.
  • Successful elementary or middle school teaching experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to implement creative and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Good organizational skills.
