Job description

Hellas Construction is now accepting resumes for a full-time Project Manager to join our Turf Division. Qualified candidates must possess either a Construction Science or Civil Engineering degree or field/construction related experience that in enables work scope review on experience. Come be a part of an amazing organization shaping the way Sports Fields are built. This division is responsible for projects with quick turnarounds. Most project duration range from two to six weeks.


The Project Manager is responsible to take ownership of the Project Profit and Loss and to ensure that all track projects are well planned and successfully executed on time and under budget.


Position will manage multiple assigned projects from award through project close-out. The project manager will also be responsible for understanding all aspects of operations. Works cohesively with internal Superintendents and Foremen to ensure all project requirements are carried out successfully.


Develop and update several times a week the Master Schedule for the company. Ensure that every Turf project is on the schedule and all preparations have been made to ensure accurate, timely completion of project. On all projects with a turf component, coordinate with Project Managers, across time zones, and keep solicited information in an easy to access manner (e.g., paper files, printed schedule, electronic version of the schedule and submittals, etc.,).


Publish the construction plan/ Work Order, order materials in advance, ordering insurance and bonds, sending submittals and compiling all work order information. Work with Internal Superintendents and job crew to ensure they have all necessary materials, equipment and supplies needed on an on-going basis.


Manage turf projects by evaluating resource utilization, constantly assessing changed conditions, regularly reviewing progress by examining project specifications and drawings, daily metrics/job boards, photo streams, and field reports. Actively record and report progress through accurate schedule updates.


Prepare Weekly Job Reports (WJRs), conduct project level audits of all documentation, including job costs, POs, subcontracts, and schedule to better maximize efficiency in future projects.


Invoice monthly for work completed. Prepare close out documentation for all projects. Review all Track projects completed in the last two months to clean out invalid Purchase Orders.


Conduct a monthly Work In Process (WIP) review at the end of each month. Manage all monthly pay estimates including pencil, initial, and final submissions.


Examine overall Turf Surfacing performance data, including financial, sales, and activity reports and spreadsheets, to monitor and measure productivity, goal achievement, and overall effectiveness. Communicate financial performance data to Accounting.


Review warranty issues submitted to Turf Department by clients, confirm validity and prepare warranty report, including costs to senior Leadership Team for approval.


Qualifications:

Two or more years of experience as a project manager in a construction company. Construction Management degree required. Civil Engineering a plus.


PMP certification a plus but not required.


Must be able to read and understand project plans and specifications.


Excellent written and verbal communication are a must, including the ability to interface with others, regardless of job title or position within the company, in a positive, approachable, and professional manner.


This includes external contacts such as client-owners, vendors, and engineering professionals.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project.


Ability to learn other functional software, which may include ComputerEase, mJobtime, Procore, and Visio.


Demonstrated knowledge of basic economics, budgeting, and accounting principles and best practices.


Experience with inventory control.


Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.


Fully bilingual in English and Spanish is required
