Utility Machine Operator - Full-Time - Portland, IN 47371

ATTN Prior Tyson Workers:

Description:

The starting pay for this position is $23.70/hr. with a shift increase for second and third shift.

Hours: 11pm-7am

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Utility Machine Operator is responsible for filling in for vacation/absenteeism and must be able to perform all jobs and operate all machines in the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Responsible for operating machinery, understanding specs of the product being ran, documenting both on paper and electronically machine setting, weights and other data as needed
  • Must be able to assemble, disassemble and clean equipment when needed and communicate issues to lead and supervisor
  • Keeps a legible accurate record as required including entering data as needed into a computer-based system
  • Perform any other work as assigned by supervisor
  • Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF Requirements
  • Must perform all positions of rotation, if applicable

Must be able to operate a Power Industrial Truck

  • Use and read scales and thermometers
  • Ability to perform basic math functions (adding, subtracting, multiplying, etc.) with use of calculator

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Must be willing and able to lift 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
  • Team Member will flex/grip with wrists/hands
  • Team Member will walk, bend, and stand

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have 3 months of operator or manufacturing experience listed in the work history or skills section; must have 6 months of work history in 12 months to be considered. Must not have been terminated from previous employer for attendance or job abandonment.
