Position Summary

The Beverage Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing beverage operations during an assigned shift while supporting the delivery of exceptional guest experiences. This position provides hands-on leadership to beverage team members through training, coaching, scheduling support, inventory management, and operational oversight. The Beverage Shift Supervisor promotes service excellence, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and team development while leading by example in a fast-paced gaming and hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily beverage operations and provide leadership to beverage team members during assigned shifts.
  • Provide the tools, training, communication, and resources necessary to deliver exceptional guest service.
  • Assist with scheduling team members to ensure appropriate staffing levels during regular operations, special events, and peak business periods.
  • Monitor beverage inventory levels and maintain supplies in alignment with operational demands.
  • Participate in weekly inventory counts and assist with weekly and monthly ordering activities.
  • Ensure proper payment collection and approved complimentary authorization for all food and beverage transactions.
  • Assist team members with cash handling procedures and balancing cash registers at the end of each shift, reporting discrepancies as required.
  • Ensure beverages are prepared and served efficiently while maintaining quality and service standards.
  • Maintain compliance with all responsible alcohol service requirements, including TIPS and related training programs.
  • Authorize approved complimentary transactions in accordance with company policies.
  • Assist in developing beverage promotions, specialty drink offerings, and revenue-generating initiatives.
  • Stay informed of beverage industry trends, service innovations, and guest preferences.
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions and ensure team compliance with required certifications.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, internal controls, gaming regulations, and applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Promote positive guest relations, employee engagement, and teamwork.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Three (3) years of food and beverage management experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience in a high-volume gaming or hospitality beverage operation.
  • Experience supporting operations that include banquet services, entertainment venues, multiple bars, and restaurant environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Strong point-of-sale (POS) operational and programming experience.
  • Knowledge of health, hospitality, food service, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with budgeting, inventory controls, financial accountability, and operational reporting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, customer service, and organizational skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Frequent movement throughout gaming, restaurant, bar, and entertainment venues.
  • Exposure to secondhand smoke and elevated noise levels.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and physical mobility throughout assigned work areas.
  • Requires manual dexterity, coordination, balance, and endurance during extended shifts.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, food and beverage service equipment, and standard hospitality work environments.
  • Ability to work extended hours and varying schedules based on operational needs.
  • Frequent verbal communication with guests, team members, and leadership.

Schedule

  • Due to the dynamic nature of hospitality and entertainment operations, team members must be available to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business needs require.
  • Travel is not required for this position.
