Groundskeeper / Maintenance Porter
Apartment Services, Inc. – Woodlawn, MD
Full-Time | Outdoor Work Required | May Rotate Between Properties

Pay: $16 hourly and Transportation Allowance

Job Overview: Apartment Services, Inc. is seeking a dependable and hard-working Groundskeeper to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming community for our residents. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and values being part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Walk the property daily to pick up trash, remove debris, and maintain dog waste stations and dumpster areas
  • Perform routine landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, and mulching
  • Use hand tools and power equipment (leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, etc.)
  • Remove snow and apply salt to sidewalks and steps during winter weather
  • Keep the maintenance shop organized and stocked
  • Report safety hazards and maintenance concerns to the Service Supervisor
  • Assist with unit “make-ready” tasks as requested
  • Follow company safety procedures and property security protocols
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Ability to operate power tools and landscaping equipment
  • Basic knowledge of landscaping techniques and outdoor maintenance
  • Good time management and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Reliable transportation required; may be assigned to multiple properties during a shift
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical work (standing, walking, bending, kneeling)
  • Able to work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)
  • Availability for emergency response during inclement weather
