Commercial Tire Technician - Port Operations
$18+ per hour | Paid Training | Career Growth
McCarthy Tire Service is hiring dependable, hardworking Commercial Tire Technicians to service trucks, trailers, and equipment at port facilities.
No commercial tire experience? No problem! We welcome candidates with automotive, diesel, fleet, mechanical, construction, equipment, or related experience. Paid training is available.
IMPORTANT: TWIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIRED
Because this position requires access to port facilities, candidates must be eligible to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
You do NOT need to already have a TWIC card to apply. McCarthy Tire Service will provide TWIC application assistance and cover the application fee for qualified candidates.
Candidates should understand that TWIC eligibility is a requirement of the position and is subject to the applicable TSA eligibility and security requirements.

What You'll Do
  • Mount, dismount, repair, install, and rotate tires
  • Service commercial trucks, trailers, and equipment
  • Perform tire inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Provide onsite/fleet service
  • Safely operate company vehicles
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles
  • Provide professional customer service
  • Follow all safety procedures
What We're Looking For
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be eligible to obtain a TWIC
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Dependable, hardworking, and safety-minded
  • Ability to obtain a DOT medical card
Preferred, But Not Required
  • Commercial tire or automotive experience
  • Diesel/fleet/mechanical experience
  • TIA CTS certification (training available)
  • MPA/NPA badge (can be obtained after hire)
