Commercial Tire Technician - Port Operations
McCarthy Tire Service
Pay: $18+ per hour, based on experience
McCarthy Tire Service is looking for a reliable, safety-minded Commercial Tire Technician to join our Port Operations team. In this hands-on role, you'll service commercial trucks, trailers, and equipment operating within secure port facilities. If you enjoy working outdoors, solving problems, and building a career with a company that invests in its employees, we want to hear from you.
No TWIC card? No problem. We will assist qualified candidates through the process and cover the application fee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mount, dismount, repair, and install passenger, light truck, and commercial vehicle tires
  • Perform tire inspections, preventive maintenance, and fleet service work
  • Safely operate company vehicles to provide onsite service and deliveries
  • Maintain service vehicles, tools, and equipment in safe operating condition
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Provide professional and dependable service to customers within port facilities

Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and commitment to safety
  • Ability to obtain DOT medical card.
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card
    • McCarthy Tire Service will pay the TWIC application fee for qualified candidates and assist with the application process

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous commercial tire or related mechanical experience
  • TIA CTS (Tire Industry Association Certified Tire Service) certification (training available)
  • Maryland Port Authority (MPA/NPA) badge (can be obtained on the job)
