Port owner operators are independent truck drivers or small business owners who own and operate their own trucks to transport cargo to and from ports. They are responsible for picking up shipping containers at port terminals and delivering them to warehouses, distribution centers, or other destinations. These operators manage their own schedules, maintain their vehicles, and handle business operations such as invoicing and compliance with regulations. Port owner operators play a crucial role in the supply chain by ensuring goods move efficiently between ports and other locations.

You'll regularly interact with port staff such as dispatchers, security personnel, and crane operators to ensure efficient movement of goods. Effective communication and punctuality are crucial, as port operations run on tight schedules.
