GSE Mechanic Supervisor
2:00pm - 10:30pm
$80,000 - $89,000/Salary
SUMMARY OVERVIEW
The GSE Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of ground support equipment. This role involves managing a team of technicians and staff, ensuring that all equipment is operational, safe, and meets regulatory standards. You will coordinate equipment maintenance schedules, respond to operational needs, and assist in training and development of staff. You will also ensure compliance with safety protocols, manage inventory, and collaborate with other departments to support efficient airport operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
      • Supervise the daily operations of the ground support and equipment department
      • Lead and manage a team of ground support staff and technicians
      • Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repair activities for ground support equipment
      • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies among team members
      • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to maintain operational standards and safety
      • Train new staff in operational procedures and safety protocols
      • Monitor the performance of team members and provide feedback and coaching
      • Manage inventory of parts and supplies, ensuring availability for maintenance tasks
      • Collaborate with other airport departments to ensure coordinated support services
      • Respond to operational issues and emergencies, implementing effective solutions
      • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, employee performance, and inventory levels
      • Participate in budgeting and cost-control activities for the department
      • Communicate effectively with team members, management, and external stakeholders
      • Stay updated on industry best practices and innovations in ground support operations

QUALIFICATIONS
      • 18 years of age or older
      • Eligible to work in the United States
      • Must have a valid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record
      • Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
      • 2 years of experience in supervising teams in an operational or maintenance environment, preferably in aviation
      • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and maintenance procedures
      • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
      • Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
      • Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
      • Pass a background check and drug screen
      • Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
      • Airports are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
