Job Description

As a permanent Respiratory Therapist in Port Elgin, ON, you'll assess, treat, and manage patients with respiratory conditions, utilizing methods like oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, and medication administration, under the direction of physicians.

Perm Placement: Respiratory Therapy 

Must Have Skills/Experience: RT on staff will be the backup for intubations – training will be provided onsite, the chosen RT will be the only RT on shift
• Preferred Skillset/Experience: None
• Type of Patients on Unit: primarily adults, ED patients, Surgical; rehab; imaging; heart & vascular; ortho; emergency

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required, BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider

(HCP) - AHA approved required*, ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Certification or EKG & Pharmacology Course required National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required and VA License.

*New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to the completion of orientation
