Position Summary
The Port of Beemac in Leetsdale Industrial Park operates 24/7. In this role, you will safely load and unload material from barges, trucks, and railcars in a heavy-industrial, outdoor environment. Large model forklift or overhead cabin crane experience is a plus - but not required - we will train the right people.
Shifts Available: 7AM or 7PM (10-12 hr. shifts)
Pay information
  • $19 - $22/hour to start for day shift, minimal experience
  • Up to $2.00/hour increase after successfully completing the 90-day probationary period
Hiring Incentives & Perks
  • $500 bonus after 90 days and $1,000 after 180 days, for qualifying employees
  • $100 monthly bonus after 180 days, for qualifying employees

Key Responsibilities
  • Operates and maintains a 45-ton Overhead River Crane or equivalent equipment.
  • Maintains equipment by performing preventive maintenance (i.e., lubricating, cleaning, adding gear lubricants, changing cables, and documenting all activities performed daily).
  • Inspect all moving parts, cables, pendant lines, sheaves, and spreader bars.
  • Responsible always for the safety of barge, truck or rail cars, and all crew members in the area.
  • Observe the load hookup and determine the safety of the load.
  • Observe safety and security procedures; report potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Manipulates or depresses crane controls such as pedals, levers, and buttons to regulate the speed and direction of crane and hoist movement.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform minor repairs.
  • Other duties as assigned. Uses proper and safe loading and unloading procedures.
  • Daily clean-up of the work area.
  • Follows the Company's and the client's safety rules and report equipment safety deficiencies immediately.
  • Maintain and use appropriate PPE- hard hat, vest, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots.
Requirements
Job Qualifications:
  • Ability to pass training and required testing.
  • Overhead cabin crane experience.
  • Must have a flexible schedule, including availability to work weekends.
  • Must be willing to work shifts and/or overtime hours during the week/weekends as dictated by operations.
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs. frequently.
  • Willing to work in areas with full exposure to the elements year-round.
  • Must have recent work history and proven track record working cross-functionally.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of team members with different backgrounds and needs.
  • Must be able to work independently based on periodic guidance and direction.
  • Must be able to perform tasks in a timely and safe manner.
