Job description

Porsche South Austin is looking for Service Technicians for our South Austin, TX location. We employ Porsche certified technicians.
Job Summary:
A Porsche Certified Service Technician, fixes, inspects, and maintains Porsche vehicles. Main duties include using tools to identify and diagnose potential issues with a customer's vehicle, explain problems with the vehicle to the customer and perform maintenance on the vehicles to fix or prevent them from future breakdowns or issues.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and other tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Repair brake and steering systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems.
  • Replace or repair transmissions and fuel components as needed.
  • Repair cooling components and systems including air conditioners and engine cooling.
  • Perform emissions inspections, safety checks and similar state-regulated vehicle examinations.
  • Produce legible and accurate paperwork reflecting work performed.
  • Must read, interpret, and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records.
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Understanding of automotive systems.
  • Ability to use the diagnostic equipment and tools including power tools.
  • Willingness to learn with hands-on training.
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance.
  • Ability to provide friendly customer service.

Education and Experience:
  • High line automotive repair experience required.
  • Working knowledge of state inspection guidelines, particularly those concerning emissions and safety, is advantageous.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • ASE certifications required.

Physical Requirements:
  • May lift objects that weigh as much as 50 lbs.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Prolonged periods of standing.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, squatting, pulling and lifting.
