PURPOSE:The Customer Service Trim Carpenter is responsible for completing service calls, warranty work, and punch list items related to doors and trim. This role involves diagnosing and repairing finish carpentry issues while providing a high level of customer service in occupied homes or buildings. JOB DESCRIPTION:Perform service and warranty work on: Interior doors (adjustments, alignment, hardware fixes) Baseboards, crown molding, and trim repairs Door/window casings and finish details Diagnose and resolve issues such as: Doors not closing properly Gaps, cracks, or separation in trim Nail pops, caulking failures, or minor damage Complete punch list items after construction is finished Communicate directly with homeowners, tenants, or clients Represent the company professionally in occupied spaces Document completed work and report unresolved issues Maintain service vehicle, tools, and materialsEnsure work is completed cleanly with minimal disruption Equipment & ToolsStandard trim carpentry tools (miter saw, nail gun, etc.) Hand tools for adjustments and repairs Caulking tools, fillers, touch-up materialsBasic door hardware toolsKNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or GED required3–6+ years in trim or finish carpentry Experience with door installation and adjustment Prior service or punch work experience preferredValid driver's license and clean driving record Ability to lift 50+ lbs Ability to work in occupied homes and maintain professionalism Own tools (often required)SKILLS & ABILITIES:Strong understanding of finish carpentry and door systems Knowledge of common service issues and how to fix them Basic understanding of humidity/settling effects on trim and doorsCustomer service best practices
