Job description

Position: Pool Attendant

Reports To: Community Manager

Address: Bowmansville, NY 14026

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Employment Status: Seasonal Part Time

Starting Salary: $18.00 | Plus year-end bonus!

Schedule: Pool opens 11am - Dusk/9pm Everyday Onsite

POSITION SUMMARY: A Pool attendant is responsible for surveying the RANE property pool and conducting rescues to help weak or injured swimmers get to safety. Their duties include speaking with swimmers to enforce swimming rules keeping track of each swimmer in the water and administering first aid to injured swimmers. This position warns swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforces pool regulations and water safety policies. If necessary, administers first aid in the event of injury, rescues swimmers in distress and administers CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include, but are not limited to the following:

· Maintain continuous surveillance of pool and pool deck whenever guests are in the pool

· Absolutely NO CELL PHONE USE when there are residents in the pool or on the pool deck

· No family or personal guests are allowed while on duty

· Enforce Pool Rules

· Perform rescue or first aid in the event of a swimming accident

· Contact management and/or 911 (when required) and maintain incident reports

· Ensure all pool equipment is set up and stored correctly

· Maintain the appearance of the pool and deck area (Sweep, water flowers, etc.)

· If a schedule change is needed, please contact the other lifeguards to find a replacement and notify the head lifeguard/community manager of the change.

· Any and all duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

· CPR and First Aid certifications - Annual renewal

Rane will reimburse Annual CPR certifications

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be 16 years or older

· Ability to communicate effectively, verbally

· Use of good judgement in making decisions

· Should possess leadership skills and be able to effectively manage others

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity, and on occasion assist or lift persons in distress of varying weights

· Required to remain alert to dangerous situations while sitting, standing, or walking for various lengths of time
