Job description

The Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee will maintain pools at client's and associated facilities for the company.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assists Pool Maintenance Specialist to clean and maintain filled pools and facilities by skimming, vacuuming, and performing chemical treatments.
  • Periodically empties pools to perform deep cleaning, including brushing and scrubbing walls, floors, and surfaces.
  • Assists Pool Service Specialist to regularly test pool water for pH; chlorine; presence of bacteria, algae, or contaminants; and other data.
  • Receives training from the Pool Service Specialist to ensure correct color, chemistry, and clarity of pool water.
  • Calculates and adds chemical treatments to maintain pH balance, eliminate contaminants, or correct other problems.
  • Inspects pool and equipment.
  • Assists Pool Service Specialist to complete and maintain daily logs outlining chemical usage, water quality, repairs, and supplies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Understanding of pool cleaning chemicals and equipment related to swimming pools.
  • Mechanical and manual labor skills related to aquatic facilities and equipment.
  • Math skills to calculate chemical additives and ratios.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of related experience required.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at a time.
  • Must have adequate sight and hearing to properly interpret water analysis, equipment readings, and complete recordkeeping.
