POSITION SUMMARY: ย 
The Advanced/Senior Maintenance Technician plays a key role in the advanced maintenance and repair of Martis Campโ€™s buildings, amenities, and equipment. This position supports the Building Maintenance Manager by leading complex repairs, mentoring junior technicians, coordinating vendor interactions, and ensuring high standards of safety, service, and operational readiness. The Senior Technician is expected to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and contribute to departmental planning and improvement initiatives. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: ย 

Advanced Maintenance Repair

  • Perform complex repairs across multiple trades including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, and pool systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with minimal supervision.
  • Lead seasonal readiness tasks including winterization, fire safety checks, and equipment calibration.ย 

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Provide guidance and training to Maintenance Technicians and seasonal staff.
  • Assist with scheduling, task delegation, and quality control.
  • Serve as acting lead in the absence of the Building Maintenance Manager.

Vendor & Project Coordination

  • Accompany and oversee external vendors performing repairs or installations.
  • Assist in obtaining quotes, reviewing scopes of work, and ensuring vendor compliance.
  • Support special projects and cross-departmental initiatives (e.g., event setup, facility upgrades).

Documentation & Communication

  • Maintain accurate service logs, pool records, and maintenance reports.
  • Communicate effectively with Ambassadors, managers, and members.
  • Ensure timely reporting of malfunctions and safety concerns.

General Support

  • Assist with furniture and equipment moves for events and seasonal transitions.
  • Monitor alarm systems and fire sprinkler systems across facilities.
  • Uphold Martis Campโ€™s Mission, Vision, and Core Values in all interactions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge

  • Advanced understanding of building systems and multi-trade maintenance.
  • Familiarity with pool operations, HVAC systems, and fire safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, preventative maintenance, and vendor coordination.

Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Effective leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Clear written and verbal communication (bilingual preferred).
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, and maintenance software.

Abilities

  • Work independently and lead small teams.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; bend, kneel, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all club-related matters.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and seasonal demands.

MINIMUM - EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND LICENSES:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
  • 5-10 years years of experience in building maintenance or related field.
  • Certified Pool Operator preferred.
  • Experience with Brunswick A2 pinsetters a plus.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and reliable transportation.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Licenced/certified Electrician or HVAC Tech highly desireable

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (with or without accommodation)

  • Ability to grip, carry, and maneuver hand and power tools
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours at a time.
  • Ability to bend, twist, and kneel frequently, with or without equipment in hand
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds in several forms including boxes, tools, equipment, and materials

Wage Range: $32 - $40 per hour
