Position Summary:

The Pool/ Fitness Center monitors are responsible for monitoring the pool/ fitness center and making sure that only residents have two guests per family at our pool. Pool monitors are not lifeguards they are only at the pool to supervise attendance and behavior. The Pool Monitors ensure that all residents adhere to all of the rules and regulations of the community.?

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:

  • The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills
  • The ability to enforce the rules and policies
  • Making sure the appearance of the pool is always in pristine condition
  • Make sure the Fitness Center is clean
  • Make sure equipment in the Fitness Center is being used properly
  • Must be able to make writing reports of any incidents
  • Must be able to work with little supervision
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

KEY COMPETENCIES:

  1. Observation Skills: Being vigilant and attentive to swimmers' behavior and the pool environment helps pool monitors identify potential hazards or unsafe situations promptly.
  2. Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication is crucial for providing instructions to swimmers, addressing concerns, and collaborating with other staff members to maintain a safe pool environment.
  3. Customer Service: Pool monitors should have good interpersonal skills to interact with pool patrons in a friendly and helpful manner, addressing their needs and inquiries professionally.
  4. Attention to Detail: Being detail-oriented helps pool monitors identify safety hazards, maintain equipment, and enforce pool regulations consistently.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent
  • Some experience with monitoring


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Constantly stand, walk, talk or hear
  • Bending down
