Pool Service TechnicianPosition Summary

We are seeking an experienced Pool Service Technician to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a pool professional who takes pride in their work, understands the importance of dependable service, and is comfortable troubleshooting a wide range of pool systems.

The Pool Service Technician will perform residential and commercial pool maintenance, seasonal openings and closings, equipment diagnostics, repairs, replacements, and other service-related work. Responsibilities may vary depending on experience, technical ability, and the needs of the location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine pool maintenance, including cleaning, vacuuming, brushing, skimming, and debris removal
  • Test pool water and accurately balance chemicals
  • Complete residential and commercial pool openings and closings
  • Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot pool equipment and operating systems
  • Service and repair pumps, filters, heaters, automation systems, sanitization systems, and related equipment
  • Identify plumbing, electrical, circulation, filtration, and water-quality issues
  • Replace or install pool equipment and components as needed
  • Perform preventative maintenance to help extend the life of pool equipment
  • Respond to customer service calls and communicate repair recommendations
  • Explain service findings and pool-care recommendations clearly and professionally
  • Maintain accurate service notes, customer records, and documentation
  • Safely operate company vehicles, tools, chemicals, and service equipment
  • Maintain an organized vehicle and ensure necessary materials are available for scheduled work
  • Follow all company procedures, manufacturer guidelines, and safety requirements
  • Assist with training apprentices and less-experienced technicians when needed
  • Support other pool service, maintenance, repair, and renovation projects as assigned
Qualifications
  • Previous professional pool service, maintenance, or repair experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of pool water chemistry, circulation, filtration, and sanitation
  • Experience working with pool pumps, filters, heaters, automation systems, and related equipment
  • Ability to diagnose pool equipment and recommend appropriate repairs
  • Basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical, or construction knowledge is preferred
  • Experience completing pool openings and closings is preferred
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification is a plus
  • Manufacturer certifications are a plus
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Dependable, organized, and able to manage a daily service schedule
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50–75 pounds
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, and work around swimming pools
  • Ability to safely handle pool chemicals, tools, and equipment
  • Ability to work outdoors during hot, cold, wet, or changing weather conditions
  • Ability to enter and exit a service vehicle frequently throughout the workday
