Job description

Principal Responsibilities:
The front desk attendant is a part-time staff position in the Kaiserman Jewish Community Center under the supervision of the Office Manager. The front desk attendant is responsible for supervising various building functions, including answering the doorbell, answering phones, assisting guests, among other tasks requested by the Office Manager. This position requires evening and weekend hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
Responsibilities:
Monday - Friday Evenings (4 to 10 pm or close)
  • Be familiar with all emergency procedures.
  • Check the daily schedule for the evening events.
  • Check the information book daily for updates to programs.
  • Make ice bags, report shortages of ice bags to the Office Manager.
  • When the pool is open, make frequent trips to the pool.
  • Report any accidents or incidents by using the appropriate forms in the information book.
  • Swipe participants into EZ Facility. Make swipe cards for members.
  • Read emails and stay up to date on all activities on our website.
  • Become acquainted with EZ facility to take payments of cash, check or credit cards.
  • During basketball season make sure the floor is mopped and tables and chairs are set up for games.
  • Be the eyes and ears of the JCC
  • Keep the front desk area clean.
  • At the end of your shift, make sure the building is clear and that all doors and windows in the entire JCC are secure.
  • Set the alarm before you leave the building.
  • Assist the Office Manager and Maintenance with any task needed.
Saturday and Sunday (3 to 10 pm or close)
  • The same responsibilities as above, including opening the building.
  • Make sure all weekend programs are set up.

  • First impressions are very important, and our Welcome/Front Desk staff make our most important first impression. Our focus is on our values, and for us, the most important is Hachnasat Orchim (Hospitality). It is our job to make sure everyone feels welcome, respected and important to our community.
  • Safety is also a big concern. You are the lookout for the building. Please be familiar with our emergency procedures.
