Pool Attendant - Encargado de la Piscina

Title: Pool Attendant

Department: Housekeeping

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Executive Housekeeper

COMPENSATION: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Job Summary: The primary role of a Pool Attendant is to effectively maintain the Hotel’s pool area. This includes but is not limited to: greeting guests, arranging chairs, and sun shades for guests’ reasonable specifications, maintaining the comportment of the pool deck, and generally making sure our guests’ needs are met. The job duties require style and service attributes that are key to creating a positive guest experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver excellent customer service in an efficient manner
  • Promptly and politely accommodate requests made by guests
  • Collect and replenish pool towels, maintain equipment (pool chairs, heat lamps, pillows, sunshades, etc). Monitor use of facility and addresses and/or reports potential hazards to help ensure guest safety
  • Maintain updated knowledge of hotel and general local area information
  • Act in a professional manner with the awareness that all actions and communications are within guest view.
  • Maintain cleanliness of lounge and service areas and ensure work area is orderly and properly stocked.
  • Complete assigned duties within each shift
  • Ensure a reasonable effort is made in preventing a guest from being intoxicated
  • Maintain appearance and uniform standards
  • Develop and maintain positive communication and teamwork with all co-workers and supervisors
  • Handle all guest service issues in an immediate and professional manner
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 months customer service experience
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
  • Willingness to obtain a CPR certification
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be detail oriented, have high standards, and able to work independently
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information, and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
  • All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
  • Previous experience working in a similar setting

Physical Requirements:

  • Outside working with various weather conditions.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the colleague is required to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
  • The colleague may frequently be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch for duration of shift (8 hours).
  • The ability to balance will also be required in the delivery of food and drinks. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
