Job description

Edgewater Golf Club, located in Lancaster, SC, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a part-time Marina Attendant! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you’ll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
 

General Purpose:

Maintains the boating facilities and essential equipment to ensure recreational enjoyment and safety of
Members and guests.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintains the openings /closures of the Marina and Captain’s Cabin Gates. Maintains tank valves;
    breaker box; and boat house
  • Monitors the fueling station, pumps gas for members/guests, and generates ticket charges
  • Monitors daily tank readings; ensures dock safety and dock safety practices; maintains boat slips, equipment, and oil leaks.
  • Reports and escalates any issues to supervisor
  • Maintains and cleans the pontoon boats
  • Captains the pontoon boats for private parties, tours and events
  • Generate tickets for gas purchases, drinks, boats and equipment rentals
  • Assist Members with loading and unloading coolers, floats, and other boating equipment
  • Responsible for recharging boat batteries and towing stranded boats
  • Monitors the captain’s cabin area and charges applicable guest fees
  • Responsible for the daily billing and inventory
  • Performs other duties as required.

Education/Experience:

Prior experience operating boats in a recreational setting

Physical Demands:

Tolerance of summer heat; frequently stands, walks and sits; regularly uses hands, reaches with arms
and hands, talks and hears; climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, pushes, and pulls;
regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds.

Environment/Noise:

Regularly works in outdoor weather conditions; occasionally works in heat, wet or humid (non-weather)
conditions; frequently works near moving mechanical parts and fumes. The noise level is moderate.

Certificates/Licenses:

Current Boater’s License / Vessel License.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:

Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the
associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the
manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
