WHO WE ARE
Ponce Health Sciences University-St. Louis is a branch campus of Ponce Health Sciences University, based in Ponce, Puerto Rico. PHSU St. Louis offers graduate level programs including MSMS, PsyD, Nursing, and Medicine.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The PsyD program at PHSU St. Louis, which began operation in the Fall of 2019, employs an APA-accredited curriculum. The program, which espouses a practitioner-scientist model, seeks to train doctoral level providers who will be informed consumers of psychological research and use this literature to guide their clinical decision making. As part of an institution that has its origins in a Hispanic population center, Ponce-St. Louis strongly values cultural competence and is particularly interested in serving and attracting students from traditionally underrepresented and underserved populations across the US and abroad.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (SBBS) at PHSU is actively seeking a Program Director for the Clinical Psychology (PsyD) Program at our St. Louis Campus. The ideal candidate will possess experience in teaching and mentoring graduate students and proficiency in coordinating and managing academic administrative duties or projects.
Reporting directly to the Dean of the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences, the Program Director for the St. Louis Campus Clinical Psychology (PsyD) Program will work collaboratively with the Dean and program members across our campuses in Ponce and San Juan, PR.
Qualified candidates must have the following background and core competencies:
    • A doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD).
    • Licensed by the Missouri Board of Psychologists or licensure eligible in Missouri.
    • Experience teaching clinical or discipline-specific courses at a doctoral level in accredited programs.
    • Strong commitment to academic and student success.
    • Experience with emerging teaching modalities, including online and educational technology.
    • Familiarity and expertise with the American Psychological Association (APA) accreditation standards, procedures, and self-study processes.
    • Proficient and driven to showcase the program to potential admissions candidates through professional and scientific presentations at forums and during visits to colleges and universities.
    • Expertise in nurturing the program's reputation in the community and a history of fostering meaningful partnerships.
    • Commitment to supporting PHSU's mission, vision and the constant integration of SBBS into the University.
    • Bilingual in English & Spanish is preferred.
    • Prior involvement in overseeing accredited doctoral psychology programs is strongly preferred.

This position is based in St. Louis and residency in the metropolitan St. Louis area is required. Compensation competitively based on experience.
