Job description

50 mile radius rule - ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST INCLUDE A COPY OF CANDIDATE'S UNEXPIRED DRIVER'S LICENSE LICENSING HITS MUST BE DISCLOSED AT TIME OF SUBMISSION ER/Trauma Center? ER - Level III Trauma Center (Cost Center 51) # beds/trauma bays 21 beds, 1 of which is a trauma bay, only used for resusictaitoin Fast track No Fast Track # Psych/seclusion rooms 4 of the 21 beds are also considered to be 'safe' rooms w/ locking gates that drop down to keep the patient in the room, but can be converted to regular rooms Security Security guards are contracted out but are pretty "hands off". If they have a problem that would need enforced they call the police # patients per day About 55 Ratios 1 to 4 Required Certifications "BLS, ACLS, PALS, & NIHSS are required TNCC is preferred " Common diagnoses/Types of patients They see a lot psych here due to having an inpatient behavioral health unit. Chronic COPD, CHF, lung issues, not a lot of high acuity traumas because there is another hight level trauma center only 15 min away, same thing with STEMI's, they would go to the STEMI receiving facility 15 min away. Usually the only traumas or STEMIs they get are walk-in's. Experience or 'Must have' skills Must have 2 years of ER experience & completed 1 prior, successful travel assignment. Also they prefer some critical care background, but not required. ED Physicians/Mid-Levels "M-F they have a max of 4 providers (2 physicians, 2 PA's). Weekends they have a max of 3 providers (2 PA's & 1 physician)" Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Manager is always avail - sometiems Nurse Aids/Paramedics/Patient sitters 1 PRN tech & 2 full-time LPNs (usually just 1 ancillaryu person EMR EPIC RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) in-house 24/7 respond quickly ( RT does ABGs & does breathing tx) Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? Clerk sits next to monitors & training them but RN's ready Phlebotomy or nurse draw RN's draw own unless need lasb to come Shifts & Scheduling 12's: 7a, 11a, 3p, 7p (most staff do rotate no one gets straight 7a. 3p & 7p can usuaally rotate -on typical schedule it's only about 2 3p & 2 7p. Allows request - no self-scheduling.blocks ok Weekend Requirement EOW (equiveelnt) 2 steady wknd night SS, work around them but usually wked SS sometimes F. Holiday Requirement only if didn't have staffing to cover - usually have enough core satff to cover Is there a call or standby requirement? Not usualy - if have a need she puts out request on App 'Crew' Floating Requirements Not usually from the ER. If census upstairs is high they could go as hleping hands bu rarre Scrub Color/Dress Code Unit/Department specific orientation 2 shifts of orientatio w/ precept Additional Notes "xray - CT in the ER - radiology transports RN's transfer to the floor occasion ER holds but not often - ER res;pon for holds Also have Reynolds Rapid Care (3) " Additional Questions Do you have experience with triage & ESI?
