CMM Programmer & Quality Inspector
PolyWorks, Leica Scanner & Coordinate Measuring Machines

We are hiring a CMM Programmer & Quality Inspector to support precision manufacturing and quality assurance operations. This role is responsible for programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), including Leica scanning technology and portable CMMs using PolyWorks software, while performing first article, in-process, and final dimensional inspections in an AS9100 manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, validate, maintain, and optimize CMM inspection programs using PolyWorks software.
  • Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), including Leica scanning systems and portable CMM equipment.
  • Perform first-piece inspections to approve production startup.
  • Conduct final dimensional inspections and approve products prior to shipment.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, models, work orders, purchase orders, sketches, and PPAP requirements to verify dimensional compliance.
  • Measure machined components and fabricated weldments against customer specifications and tolerance requirements.
  • Generate dimensional inspection reports using a variety of precision measurement equipment.
  • Identify dimensional discrepancies and ensure appropriate containment actions are implemented.
  • Collaborate with Production Leads to communicate inspection findings and resolve quality concerns.
  • Review and refine data collection requirements to support customer and internal quality standards.
  • Participate in corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities.
  • Support Gage R&R studies to validate measurement system accuracy.
  • Utilize precision inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, bore gages, and other metrology tools.
  • Maintain compliance with company quality, environmental, and safety procedures.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in CMM programming, dimensional inspection, or quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
  • Experience using PolyWorks metrology software.
  • Experience with Leica scanning technology and/or portable CMM systems.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Proficiency using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and bore gages.
  • Knowledge of dimensional inspection methods, first article inspection, and final inspection processes.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality management systems and ISO 14001 environmental standards.
  • Ability to interpret written, verbal, and diagram-based work instructions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot dimensional discrepancies and support corrective actions.
  • Must follow all safety procedures, security protocols, and PPE requirements.
  • Must successfully complete background screening, employment verification, reference checks, and controlled substance testing.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in aerospace, defense, or other precision manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with PPAP documentation and customer quality requirements.
  • Additional experience supporting Gage R&R studies and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Advanced knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 14001 standards.
