The Post Process Operator I is responsible for understanding all aspects of post processing 3D printed parts made from polymer materials using additive technologies. Primary tasks include operating post-processing equipment to prepare printed parts for finishing. Additional tasks include performing part count, visual inspection, and adhering to specific work orders and work instructions. Adherence to strict safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work environment is required.
In this role you will be working first shift in our Tucson, AZ facility. We get to work in so many different industries and for so many different projects you never know what each day will bring. We work with regular orders in finishing the product after it is done in the manufacturing stage and either removing support or sanding and painting, you will be the final touch to these customer orders.
What you will be doing:
  • Basic understanding of all part cleaning and support removal techniques and the ability to complete tasks with moderate supervision in a timely manner
  • Review work instructions for product information and special needs
  • For SLA and DLP technologies, uses part washers, spinners, UV light ovens, and heat treat ovens
  • Uses hand tools (scrappers, blades, brushes, pressurized air, etc., to clean excess material and supports from parts
  • Keeps work area clean and organized
  • Completes end of day cleaning and closing procedures
  • Transports parts from Post Processing to Finishing department
  • Responsible for compliance with Quality Management System
  • Adheres to relevant work instruction
  • Observes and identifies faulty parts based on work orders
  • Follows established production workflow for part traceability
  • Addresses problems with parts and production with Lead/Supervisor
  • Collaborate closely with operators and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve post-processing challenges
  • Contributes to continuous improvement projects
  • Perform other tasks as required by the department supervisor and leads

Must have for this role:
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience working with hands (gross and fine motor skills)
  • Demonstrates ability to learn and interpret work instructions

Nice to have:
  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred
  • Proficiency in the English language
  • Previous experience in factory or manufacturing setting is preferred
  • Takes initiative to keep working area clean and is kept free of hazardous materials at all times
